Arthur Coventry returns home from WWII, and the killing fields of France, to his California farm. Upon his return, he plants the vine shoots he's carefully nurtured and painstakingly begins a winery to commemorate his fallen brothers-in-arms. Seventy years later, his grandson, Grant, returns to finalize his grandfather’s estate. It was Arthur’s final wish to sell the winery, and for Grant to have but one possession - a journal. As Grant nears completion of Arthur's wartime correspondence, the razing of the farmhouse reveals a decades-old family secret.
